Photograms

Here are some photograms that i made whilst messing around with objects, light and reactive photo paper in my uni's darkroom.

A-Z TPH

The brief of this project was to find images of letters from A-Z in my courses department, the Thomas Parker House (TPH). Once i had the images i made a small square shaped booklet that went from A-Z. The pages were different stocks of colour, the front cover was a dark red to catch the readers eye with a Japanese / Modernist styled look mixing traditional with modern effects. I crafted it all by hand binding it by sewing it. The pages inside were french folded adding thickness and making it all feel very high quality whilst making it look rough.

Glory Hole: 'Zine Project

This was the first project I did on my course at uni in a mixed group of second and first years. The brief was to make a magazine (or a 'Zine') that is loosely related to the word 'ACTIVE'. We did ours on active Lincoln, as in the side of Lincoln the majority of us will never see. This magazine was to open people's eyes to the hidden societies around them in their local towns.

Nature Unfolded (early thoughts)

At the moment i am in the early stages of making a book filled with illustrations of silhouetted nature images. these images are on french folded sheets of paper and in the french folds are short stories or possibly poems or just general word play showing the more hidden side of nature or the less peaceful and more destructive side that we want to forget about and hide away

Lomography

I took a series of 10 images using using a Holga camera using only natural light and the surroundings to manipulate the images. The traditional look offers these images certain moods and emotions.
